OLED Upgrade Compatibility Question

I have a IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 14AHP9 - Type 83DR purchased from Costco. Appears if purchasing a custom built version, you could choose an OLED screen and I am curious to know if I can upgrade the LCD to an OLED (as I assume it would be the same connector) but haven't been able to confirm anything searching online. If this is possible, I currently expect the compatible OLED to be one of these two part numbers but am not sure how to verify. ⏎

Any help would be apricated.

@bluedust01 have you checked for either one of those parts numbers to see if those LCD modules are even available. I've checked Lenovo and according to them they are "not yet available".

I don't recall which, but one of them was available about a month or so ago. I don't need to buy anything now. If I knew one of them would work I would watch for it to be back in stock.

I don't have a definitive answer, but my first impression is to be very skeptical that this would work. Yes, they certainly could have designed the interface to handle both kinds of displays, but I wouldn't bet on it.

The thing is, the two displays use completely different kinds of control signals, so it's really hard to configure a common connection for both. The LCD is going to include backlight signals including power and brightness, while the OLED needs none of that. Controlling the brightness is done entirely different; on an LCD you just increase or decrease the brightness of the backlight, but the OLED has to have each pixel adjusted individually.

You have to admire the ingenuity of the aftermarket designers who managed to figure out how to retrofit an LCD into an OLED display so it's a pretty safe bet it could be done the other way but my bet would be that they'll use a different graphics card or motherboard instead.
